Short description

TG4's has established a digital archive, through a series of integrated but standalone modules which focused on specific collections in TG4's Irish language archive programming. Three modules have been completed and three ar ongoing. These collections have been carefully selected not only due to their current state of preservation, but also because of the cultural, historical and musical content involved and because of the content's unique perspective on Ireland and its culture and people. They are also being prioritised due to their linguistic and overall broadcast significance. TG4 believes that a modular, collections-driven approach will enable it to build capacity and infrastructure, establish best-in-class technical specification and workflows and ultimately, to establish a digital archive which is scalable and robust.
