Wicklow County Council requires an Architect Lead Consultant to provide and supervise the detailed design, costing and construction of a new Library and Area Offices for Arklow.
The project was originally envisaged as just the library element, but the joint usage has since been developed. In this regard, Feasibility Studies of the building and site have taken place, including site survey drawings, asbestos survey and radon survey. The project has gone to planning with Arklow Town Council on March 26 2013. (Relevant documents re all of these are attached).
Required work will include, but not be restricted to, detailed design development, demolition, site clearance, tender for construction, oversee and manage construction, tender for furniture and fitout, connection of all services, landscaping site, building finishes, snagging and handover of works.
In addition to the architect lead consultant, sub-consultants to include, civil and strutural engineering services, mechanical electrical engineering services, quantity surveying and PSDP.
Applicants must fill in attached "Suitability Assessment Questionnaire" - QC2. Applicants deemed qualified under QC2 crirteria will go forward for assessment against Award Criteria. Contract will be awarded based 50% on quality and 50% on cost, as per QC2.
Closing date for tenders is Friday 17 May 2013 at 12 noon. Tenders to be submitted in a sealed envelope and marked "Arklow Library and Area Offices".
The building is a former Dunnes Stores building on Main Street, Arklow, Viewings can be arranged for Friday 5 April or Tuesday 9 April.
