7025 - Refurbishment of Impedance Bonds
Iarnrod Eireann has a requirement for the Refurbishment of Impedance Bonds. It is estimated that there will be a requirement for approx. 30 No. bonds to be refurbished per annum.
Each Impedance Bond contains two coils plus formers encased in petrolatum. The Coil arrangement is encased in a wrought iron case and the total weight is 280kg.
Bonds, which require refurbishment, must be collected, inspected, refurbished and returned to IE within 6 weeks. Where an impedance bond is beyond refurbishment, the metallic components of the bond (minus the petrolatum) shall be returned to Iarnrod Eireann.
A full specification for the refurbishment of the impedance bonds will be provided at tender stage but in each case the Contractor will be required to:
• Strip down Bond
• Melt out all grease
• Remove all individual parts (electric coil and casing etc.) & clean
• Reassemble all parts, supplying materials where required
