7025 - Refurbishment of Impedance Bonds

Iarnrod Eireann has a requirement for the Refurbishment of Impedance Bonds. It is estimated that there will be a requirement for approx. 30 No. bonds to be refurbished per annum. Each Impedance Bond contains two coils plus formers encased in petrolatum. The Coil arrangement is encased in a wrought iron case and the total weight is 280kg. Bonds, which require refurbishment, must be collected, inspected, refurbished and returned to IE within 6 weeks. Where an impedance bond is beyond refurbishment, the metallic components of the bond (minus the petrolatum) shall be returned to Iarnrod Eireann. A full specification for the refurbishment of the impedance bonds will be provided at tender stage but in each case the Contractor will be required to: • Strip down Bond • Melt out all grease • Remove all individual parts (electric coil and casing etc.) & clean • Reassemble all parts, supplying materials where required Interested candidates are required to download, complete and return the Pre Qualification Questionnaire attached to this Contract Notice in strict accordance with the instructions provided.
