Re:                   Tankerstown National School – Mechanical Upgrade Summer Works Project

Dear Sirs,

On behalf of Tankerstown National School you are hereby invited to tender for the proposed Mechanical Upgrade Summer Works Project at Tankerstown National School, Tankerstown, Bansha, Co Tipperary in accordance with the accompanying ‘Instructions to Tenderers’ and tender documents. Please refer to the attached schedule of documents and drawings for the full listing of tender documents.

The tender documents are available by contacting the Consulting Engineers for the Project, Fahey O’Riordan Consulting Engineers via their dedicated email at (mailto:tenders@force.ie) with Tankerstown National School – Mechanical Upgrade Summer Works Project in the Subject Line.

Your tender should include the following documents.
  • Signed Declaration of Suitability for Contractors for Small Works
  • Signed Volume B Form of Tender and Schedule
  • Signed Volume C Pricing Document and Schedule of Prices

Tenderers are strongly advised to visit and check the site relative to all aspects of the work and include for same in their tender. No claims whatsoever will be entertained by the employer due to the lack of knowledge of site conditions or existing installations.

Site visits shall be facilitated on Monday 18th June between 3:00pm and 5:00pm.  

Completed tenders should be returned in a sealed envelope clearly marked as follows:-   

The deadline for receipt of tenders is 2:00pm on Friday 22nd June 2018 and tenders shall be addressed to:-

Late tenders will not be accepted and tenders sent to any other address will be deemed invalid tenders. Unsigned Form of Tender will likewise be deemed invalid tender.

Tenders may be submitted by hand, post or registered post. The onus is on the sender to obtain proof of delivery of any tender unless sent by registered post or recorded delivery.

Conditions of Participation 

Tenderers must sign the accompanying “DoES Suitability Declaration for Small Works", and if requested to do so must provide the necessary evidence of compliance stated in that document within 7 days.

The Contract is intended to be awarded to a single main contractor. If a group of contractors apply as a group or joint venture and are successful, either a lead contractor must be nominated who will be responsible for providing the service or a Joint Venture must be formed with whom the Awarding Authority will sign the contract.

 Important Notice 

Tenderers are required to read the DoES Contractor Suitability Declaration for Small Works carefully and to make sure that they meet the minimum standards stated therein. Tenderers who do not meet those requirements should not submit a tender as they will be excluded at award stage. All Tenderers are liable for their own costs of tendering.

It is a condition precedent to the award of the Contract that the successful Tenderer will provide:-

 

  1. A current tax clearance certificate or in the case of a non-resident Contractor a statement of suitability on tax grounds from the Revenue Commissioners of Ireland.
  2. Evidence showing that they are in compliance with the registered employment agreement (Construction Industry Pensions Assurance and Sick Pay).
  3. Evidence of Current Insurance cover: 
  • Public Liability Insurance            Minimum €6,500,000
  • Employers Liability Insurance     Minimum €13,000,000

 The applicable works contract will be: Short Public Works Contract 

 The Contract will be awarded on the basis of most economically advantageous tender in terms of lowest comparative tender as stated on the Form of Tender. Please note that the lowest or any tender need not necessarily be accepted and the acceptance of any tender will be subject to approval of funding.

There are no Contractor or Employer named specialists. All sub-contractors are domestic. 

The successful applicant will be appointed Works Contractor and Project Supervisor for the Construction Stage (PSCS) on the project in accordance with the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work (Construction) Regulations.

The Project categorisation for assessment of H&S competence as Works Contractor and PSCS is Type 1.
