St Pauls National School Navan - Construction of a 32 classroom primary school and playing pitch

The Works comprise 4 works sections. Works Section 1A comprises staff parking and hard standing for lost play area, compound set up, ESB diversions Works Section 1B (concurrent to 1A) comprises the new school build and ancillary works incl. entrance gates Works Section 2A comprises demolitions of existing prefab and permanent schools and grubbing up etc.. Works Section 2B comprises new playing pitch and ancillary works Overview: The project is to construct a 5644m2 new build 32 classroom primary school with 2 classroom SNU/ASD unit, 4no. ballcourts, 60no. carparking spaces, internal driveway with set down areas. The new building is to be constructed on the existing playing field on the site. The existing school building and associated prefabricated classrooms will continue to operate during construction. The proposed phasing provides for the retention in place of the majority of the existing prefabricated classrooms until the new building is constructed. It will be required to provide some additional hardstanding for student play and staff parking which is displaced by the contractor’s compound. Only when the new building is complete will the pupils and staff decant to the new building and then demolition of the existing building and full removal of the existing prefabricated classrooms can commence. The contractor will be responsible for the final phasing of the works sections and a detailed construction management plan will be sought before any works commence so as to ensure safe access is maintained at all times.
