Navan, Co.Meath
The proposed LDR4 Abbeyland Navan scheme comprises an urban single carriageway cross section of approximately 1.15km in length, consisting of two 3.25m wide lanes, 2.0m wide raised one-way cycle track on both sides, 2.5m wide footpaths on both sides, road verges, earthworks and drainage ditches.
The proposed alignment commences to the north with a proposed 4-arm signalised junction on the L3409 Ratholdron Road replacing the existing L34094-1 Clonmagadden Road T-junction. The alignment runs south across a small area of woodland and agricultural land. The alignment turns south east and follows broadly the western boundary of Town Park. From here, the alignment runs south and across the River Blackwater almost perpendicularly. The alignment continues southbound to the east of the residential properties at Blackwater Park, requiring the acquisition and demolition of an existing commercial building. The alignment ties into the existing R147/N51 roundabout which will be upgraded to a 4-arm signalised junction.
