SEAI is seeking a suitably qualified Consultant for the onshore works. The consultant will be wholly responsible for the delivery of the Project Management and Engineering Consultancy Services for the development of the Atlantic Marine Energy Test Site Substation and be responsible for executing all required stages of the Project:
Stage (ii): Familiarisation and Outline Design Development
Stage (iii): Tender Action, Evaluation, Award
Stage (iv): Design & Construction
Stage (v): Handover of Works
Note that Stage (i) (Preliminary Design) has been completed.
The Atlantic Marine Energy Test Site (AMETS), Belmullet on the Erris peninsula is being developed by SEAI to facilitate the testing of full-scale floating offshore wind (FOW) and wave energy converters (WECs) in an open ocean environment. Each FOW turbine and WEC or array will be connected via a submarine electricity cable, buried under the seabed, to a dedicated substation on the shore which will in turn be connected to the local electricity grid.
