The National Transport Authority is seeking to procure a trial of and, if successful a roll out of, Smart Demand Responsive Transport services (SDRT), using app based products to secure services and routing algorithms to match vehicles with capacity to users.
Consequently the NTA wishes to invite interested parties who wish to meet the Authority to request, via the etenders messaging facility, a time allocation for a meeting. The purpose of these meetings is for the Authority to gauge the market place, note that the Authority will not be in a position to share details of the forthcoming procurement process. It is important to note that the Authority is not seeking to engage consultants or advisors for the trial of SDRT and therefore invite parities who have experience in providing the service.
The information received in this consultation shall enable the NTA to make an informed decision on its requirements for such a trial/roll out. The NTA is currently planning to run trials of DRT in Ireland in different settings: e.g. A suburban area of Dublin that would benefit from DRT services • Use of DRT technology to enhance an existing DRT system, such as Local Link.
The NTA is expected to commence the process to tender for a trial supplier(s) and possible roll out prior to the end of Q2 2023.
The respondents should note that any response/ communication received by the Authority will not be considered as expressions of interest in any way for future procurement process, and whichever approach is chosen by the Authority, there will be no impact of this exercise on the participant’s evaluation in any subsequent procurement process.
