The requirement is for the design and fabrication of a replacement Stop Log system for the Galway Sluice barrage. It is intended that OPW West region or a nominated contractor will install the Stop log system with supervision from the supplier. This structure is to replace the original stop log structure which is no longer fit for purpose. This would include a permanent frame system for all 14 sluice gates and 2 no. temporary stop log systems to allow for the ‘closing’ of 2 sluice gates at any one time. See attached as-built drawings for Galway Sluice Barrage which includes all dimensions relating to the gates. Drawing No. 004 has as-built dimensions for the existing dam. It is intended to procure and install one stop log frame and system for one gate and if this is successfully installed then the remaining frames/systems and components will be procured for the remaining gates.
