Short description

The IEHG wishes to secure a partner organisation with experience of applying a standard scientific approach to improving Patient Flow across multiple sites / organisations. The successful technical partner will work in partnership with the Ireland East Hospital Group (IEHG) Improvement Team and their relevant stakeholders over a 2-year contract period to plan and deliver sustainable improvement in patient flow (inclusive of scheduled and unscheduled care). The IEHG Improvement Team is committed to building on our success to date in leading group-wide improvements for patients and believes that this work will enable us to further transform the delivery of healthcare within the IEHG.

Description of the procurement

The IEHG wishes to secure a partner organisation with experience of applying a standard scientific approach to improving Patient Flow across multiple sites / organisations. The chosen provider will also be required to;
• Facilitate major change as external change agents embedding a culture of lean thinking supported by lean systems of clinical care and operational processes.
• Provide the relevant and appropriate training, coaching and mentoring required by management and staff members based on their particular needs regarding both scientific problem solving and improving their own working practices and processes.
The chosen provider will also be required to support and enable the IEHG and its constituent hospitals in;
• the creation of a shared continuous improvement language across all sites within IEHG.
• to become self-sufficient in the solving of their own problems and improve their own working practices and processes through group wide shared learning.
• empowering and enabling staff with the tools and confidence to redesign and take control of their work environment to improve patient care particularly at ward and patient flow level.
• in improving patient safety through impacting on long trolley waits.
• in improving income generation through protecting elective scheduling and day case work.
