Short description
The proposed site is near the Out-Patient Department entrance of the hospital on the East side and is accessible from the main circulation concourse of the hospital at all levels. The proposed design creates two 21 bed wards on the first two storeys at Level 3 and Level 4. The beds spaces are all provided in single rooms with two isolation rooms per floor as per Strategy for the control of Antimicrobial Resistance in Ireland (SARI) guidelines with all necessary ancillary accommodation self-contained on each level. The upper storeys at Level 5 and 6 keep the established building line to create a design that will integrate with the surrounding environs. The accommodation requirements for Levels 5 and 6 have yet to be fully established and these areas shall be shell and core only.

Description of the procurement

A new covered ramped approach to the Level 3 entrance and improved public access as well as site works and roads infrastructure are also included.
The Undercroft at level 2 shall accommodate parking visitors and Ambulance and provide accommodation for staff and plant. The floor area at each level can be summarised as follow:
Level 2 = 524.91m2
Level 3= 1172.15m2
Level 4= 1209.75m2
Level 5= 620.97m2
Level 6= 527.74m2
Level 7= 190.89m2
Total floor area= 4246.41m2
The Works will be completed in Multiple Phases with Sectional handovers.
Price is not the only award criterion and all criteria are stated only in the procurement documents
