Tenders are sought for the supply, delivery and installation and commissioning of Ultra-stable cryogenic closed-cycle cryostat with a superconducting vector magnet
The Ultra-stable cryogenic closed-cycle cryostat with a superconducting vector magnet must fulfil the minimum specifications listed below.
The equipment will be supplied and maintained at the following site:
Tyndall National Institute,
University College Cork,
Cork
The Epitaxy and Physics of Nanostructure group at Tyndall National Institute works on the optical properties of nanostructures (quantum dots). The scope and utilization of the system might go beyond these requirements, but these being most stringent of them all; this document is designed around this particular need.
Since liquid helium is an expensive resource in Ireland, the station is required to be cryogen free, i.e. reach cryogenic working temperatures with separate closed cycle system for the sample (holder) and the magnets.
For this reason, the system is required to have an efficient optical access and must have extra low vibration levels as specified, should operate below 2K and present very small drift over long periods of time (~weeks). Sample must be mounted on cryogenic piezo actuators (non-magnetic), and feature a vectorial superconducting magnet set-up (minimum requirement z,x components, e.g. 9T, 3T). More details are listed in the following specific text.
