The desired solution should be self-contained and should enable autonomous operation, ideally facilitating statistically valid design of experiment optimisation to be performed. To ensure applicability, the multiplexed bioreactor vessels to be used with the proposed solution should replicate stir tank vessels that will be employed in subsequent scale up development experiments. Each bioreactor should be independently controlled. The proposed solution should also have capability for direct integration with analytical solutions, such as cell counters, nutrient and metabolite analysers and other analytical instrumentation such as spectroscopic or chromatographic instruments.
