Nenagh, County Tipperary
The scheme aims to provide a 2.4 km long, cycle path and footpath, along the bank of the Nenagh River. The project also needs to provide an Active Travel interconnectivity between Schools, Residential Estates, the Town Park, places of work and potentially the Train Station. Currently there is a River Walk along the banks of the River Nenagh. This pathway starts on the R445 and runs North towards the N52. Along the N52 there is also an existing pathway, which runs parallel to the N52 to the Borrisokane Roundabout.
Tipperary County Council wishes to appoint a Technical Consultant to develop, an Ecological study, and provide design proposals for a walking and cycling route to connect schools, train station and residential areas in Nenagh to a new river walk that connects the R498 to the N52.
The core objective of this tender is to develop the design from preliminary stages and to take the project through the statutory planning process and if approval is granted on to Construction and handover. Progression to subsequent stages is dependent on funding.
