The purpose of the contract is to provide Meath County Council with a complete collection, pre-treatment and disposal service of illegally dumped waste and litter in County Meath and in compliance with waste collection, pre-treatment and disposal legislation.
The successful contractor will be responsible for all Health and Safety issues that pertain to the collection, pre-treatment and disposal service and shall be responsible for the design, set-up, maintenance and removal of any traffic management required to undertake the service.
The successful contractor will be subject to random unannounced health and safety inspections undertaken by Meath County council staff. Non-conformances shall be reported as a non-conformity and brought to the attention of the contractor service provider for action. Where continuous unsatisfactory safety and health performance is observed, the Employee in Charge of the Project shall address the non-conformance with regards to the provisions of the project contract. The Safety Section shall be notified and the contractor / service provider will be removed from the A-Z Prequalified Contractors Register.
A contract agreement shall be entered into with the successful Tenderer for the collection, pre-treatment and disposal of illegally dumped waste and litter. The contract will be awarded for a probationary period of one year and subject to the satisfaction of Meath County Council will be extended for a period of three years.

Pursuant to the provisions in Art 32.5 of the Public Procurement Directive 2014/24/EU, in the event of and subject to additional funding and approval, any additional or repetitive works/services that are directly related back to the original contract, may be awarded to the successful tenderer pursuant to the procedures in accordance with Art 26.1.
