[DescrProcurement]

The ESB Server Support Team is a part of Infrastructure Services and is responsible for the procuring, building, hosting, support & maintenance of our Red Hat Linux estate.
ESB’s corporate IT infrastructure and strategy is based on:
• Server consolidation and virtualisation.
• Implementation of a dual datacentre strategy to provide standard recovery infrastructure for applications that require a disaster recovery solution.
• Centralised SAN based storage.
• Deployment of Linux and Windows servers for business critical applications.
• Deployment of Linux & Windows servers as virtual machines on VMWare or in Microsoft’s Azure Cloud, unless there is a technical requirement for a dedicated physical server.
ESB is inviting expressions of interest from Applicants for the supply and support of RedHat Linux subscriptions and associated management tools.
It is proposed that the Contract will include:
• The supply of subscriptions and associated subscription support for ESB's Red Hat Linux environment which is running on x86 servers, physical and virtual machines, on premise or in Microsoft’s Azure Cloud.
• The potential expansion of ESB’s Red Hat Linux environment which will cater for SAP Hana, S4 Hana, SAP NetWeaver and Non-SAP requirements on premise and in the cloud over the next 3 - 5 years.
ESB currently has approximately 300 Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) Instances, which is likely to increase over the contract period as ESB implements S4 HANA, SAP HANA, Containers etc. ESB will indicate the volume ranges in the RFT.
ESB’s subscription footprint contains a mix of Standard and Premium subscriptions, individual and Datacentre. This is further broken down into Enterprise Linux (non SAP), SAP Application and SAP Solutions subscriptions and all have Smart Management.
Applicants must indicate that they are certified to supply and support RedHat Linux subscriptions and associated management tools.
Please note the contract will be awarded on the basis of the most economically advantageous tender (MEAT).
The successful provider will already have delivered a similar solution to industries to the scale and requirements that are being sought by ESB.
