EirGrid is seeking Community Fund Administration Services providers for the administration of community funds associated with the construction of new energy infrastructure. EirGrid is seeking providers who have demonstrated experience in community fund development, grant administration and a proven track record of working with local communities and County/City Councils and other representative bodies.
The successful providers will assist with the scoping, design, implementation and evaluation of EirGrid’s Community Funds distribution and administration ensuring industry best practice. The Irish ‘Government Policy Statement on the Strategic Importance of Transmission and Other Energy Infrastructure’ published 2012 underlined the appropriateness of incorporating community gain considerations into major energy infrastructure projects. In line with this policy statement, EirGrid currently has a number of energy infrastructure projects in Ireland eligible for a Community Fund, including Clashavoon – Dunmanway 100 kV line, North South Interconnector, Celtic Interconnector, North Connaught, and Laois – Kilkenny Reinforcement Scheme. The cumulative fund value will be in excess of €6 million.
