This Request for Tender (RFT) seeks to set up a single provider to engage the services of a Clerk of Works to provide support on identified works projects to Cork Institute of Technology [CIT]. The projects will be identified as they arise and the appointed Contractor will make the nominated Clerk of Works available to fulfil a central role in supporting the Institute on the identified capital building projects or refurbishment works. The first project is the CIT Arena, a 3500sqm new build on the Bishopstown Campus, the project is due to start on site June 2020 but this will depend on the lifting of the Covid‐19 restrictions on Construction sites. The project is expected to take 15 months. The nominated Clerk of Works will liaise closely with the Institute’s Buildings & Estates team. The nature of the requirement under this tender is such that the identified support will be required on‐site for agreed period(s) of time as needed to support each individual project; It is envisaged that during a period of support the nominated Clerk of Works will be working in situ at the Bishopstown Campus for a minimum of three (3) days on average per week; however, depending upon the demands of the project, the number of days on site could vary from one (1) to five (5) days in any given week. Upon appointment, and annually thereafter, CIT’s Building Officer shall liaise with the appointed Contractor to discuss the Institute’s programme of work so that the Contractor and its nominated Clerk of Works can plan and manage their diaries efficiently. The Contract will be for an initial period of 15 months with provision for a maximum of 2 (two) 12‐month extensions.
