[DescrShort]

The focus of this tender is on the 150 strong Expressway fleet, which delivers services every day across our national inter-city route network. Since 2007 it has continually invested in renewing and upgrading its commercial Expressway fleet by the acquisition of premium quality, comfortable and accessible coaches. The result has been an unprecedented improvement in the quality of service and standards of comfort offered to customers travelling on all routes, each day throughout the year.
Bus Éireann (BÉ) uses a range of technologies and applications for its Expressway service. These have been developed independently over time and integrated with back office applications. This has resulted in a complex business process to manage the ticket sales and revenues through the different sales channels.
The supplier shall be required to design, develop and deploy an e-commerce ticketing system for the Bus Éireann Expressway bus service.

It is intended that following PQQ evaluation, and depending on the quality of details submitted, that at least three (3) but no more than five (5) entities will be invited to submit formal Invitation to Tender (ITT) documents.

[OptionsInfo]

[Options]: [Yes]
[OptionsDescr]:
In the tender documentation we detailed the option of Phase 3.
At present the transactions made with cash, DSP and Leap Cards are processed via the TGX150 ETM and the related back-office systems. The expected position is that DSP and Leap processing will remain with the TGX150 machine in the short term but that Cash and all other processes will transfer to the new ticketing system. During this period, the new OBT and related on-bus equipment will need to co-exist with the TGX150 machine on the vehicle and Tenderers will need to ensure that the proposed solution and equipment can co-exist successfully on the vehicle meeting necessary ergonomic, safety and accessibility requirements.
At a future stage, we may take up the option to implement Phase 3 as detail at Section 11 to integrate DSP and Leap processing with this new Ticketing solution and move away from having multiple ticketing devices on bus
