Invitation to tender for the Provision of Molecular Microbiology analysers for the Microbiology Department within St James’s Hospital Dublin
[Supplies]
The Molecular Laboratory currently offers the following assays using a batch testing methodology (Abbott m2000sp/rt system):
• Chlamydia trachomatis and Neisseria gonorrhoeae (qualitative result) on both genital and non-genital samples (urines and swabs)
• Hepatitis B viral load (quantitative result) on plasma samples
The laboratory seeks to change the testing of these assays to a random access / continuous load instrument. In addition, it is proposed to also use the instrument for other testing to consolidate work onto one instrument. Proposed tests that may be prioritised include (but are not limited to):
• Mycoplasma genitalium
• Influenza A
• Influenza B
