Connolly Hospital seek tender applications to provide decontamination services for Reusable Invasive Medical Devices (RIMD) including the cleaning, disinfection and sterilisation of surgical instruments, devices and equipment in accordance with current relevant national and international standards (flexible endoscopes not included). Provision of decontamination service must be able to meet the current and future demands of potentially up to 50% extra capacity and have the ability to respond to expected and unexpected peaks in activity. Provision of decontamination service requires adherence to strict twice daily collection and delivery times and includes fast track, emergency, Sunday and/or Public holiday arrangements if required.

Description of the procurement

The decontamination service must be safe, quality assured, reliable, timely, & flexible and be in accordance with all relevant national and international standards and legislation. Current and future tracking & traceability of instruments / sets is required to and from Connolly Hospital and throughout the decontamination process.
Robust contingency plans must be in place to maintain continuity of service in case of a major incident requiring increase in RIMD reprocessing or major damage such as fire, flooding or loss of power at the facility. Communication, confidentiality and adherence to Connolly Hospital RIMD transportation Standard Operations Procedure & Infection Prevention and Control/HSE audit requirements are required
