An Post are seeking an enterprise wide solution, initially to replace their current
document imaging repository system. This current system (Alchemy) stores in
excess of 64M document images comprising approximately 1.5TB of storage.
Additionally An Post seek that the solution is sufficiently capable of supporting
multiple projects/systems requirements for document storage, retrieval and image
data capture processes.
Images are stored within the current solution through interfacing with OpenText
Teleforms document scanning software, Metastorm BPM software and as
uploaded from mobile devices used by postal staff. Images are retrieved from the
system via Metastorm BPM software and other custom built applications with
multiple users.

Description of the procurement

An Post are seeking an enterprise wide solution, initially to replace their current

Images are stored within the current solution through interfacing with OpenText

uploaded from mobile devices used by postal staff. Images are retrieved from the
system via Metastorm BPM software and other custom built applications with
multiple users. They key requirements of the solution required are;
•Provide equivalent image repository system software capable of efficiently
storing & retrieving images with comprehensive features for record management
customisable to individual document types
•Migrate all images and files from the current platform to the new platform.
•Redevelop or replace all interfaces that currently exist with the Alchemy software.
These can broadly be categorised as follows
o Teleforms Scanning software.
o Mobile Scanners
o MetaStorm BPM..
o Custom Built Indexing application.
• Provide a solution that can apply a new index to previously captured
documents, based on business rules that will be defined.
• The ability to maintain document versions should be part of any solution
• Facilitate An Post compliance with all relevant Data Protection &
Financial regulation/legislation through record management.
• Provide capability to store and easily retrieve documents captured from
additional sources including emails, MFDs, system interfaces, print runs, screen
grabs, PC based documents etc. and support features such as
intelligent/automatic indexing of documents stored
•Provide a full audit trail of all actions completed on all documents
•Addition of new document types should be user function and not require the engagement of a software developer
•Be capable of being supported for a least 10 years from time of purchase with clear arrangements for patching/upgrades and product maintenance
•Operate within An Post technical environment (Windows, Oracle, SqlServer or equivalent) and be capable of integration with bespoke/third party systems
