Community Smoke Alarm Scheme 2015 - request for the supply and delivery of smoke alarms to Local Authorities
Ireland
Each year the Department of the Environment, Community and Local Government
runs the Community Smoke Alarm Scheme. Under the scheme, local authorities
will, with the assistance of the voluntary sector and others who visit persons in
vulnerable households, identify those households where there are no smoke
alarms and will arrange for the supply and installation of two smoke alarms in
each such household.
This tender will be limited to 10,000 alarms: 5,000 10 Year Battery Power Sealed
Ionisation Alarms and 5,000 10 Year Battery Powered Optical Alarms.
Expressions of Interest will be sought from the 27 Local Authorities. These
Expressions of Interest will determine how many of each alarm type will be
delivered to the participating Local Authorities. Historically, not all Local
Authorities have opted to take part in this scheme.
