Clare County Council is seeking tenders for the procurement of a cash and carry supplier for the Cliffs View Café for a period of 12 months from March 2015 to March 2016. The Contracting Authority reserves the right to extend the term for two further periods of 12 months on the same terms and conditions, subject to the Contracting Authority’s obligation at law. It is emphasised that the continuation of the contract beyond the initial 12 month period will be contingent upon the successful delivery of the initial contract(s).
Tenderers are requested to fix their prices for the first 12 months of the contract(s) and thereafter notify Clare County Council in writing of any price increases. Based on the last 12 months of operation we anticipate the Cash & Carry supplier account will be worth in excess of €125,000 per annum exclusive of VAT.
There are two cafes within the Cliffs of Moher Visitor Experience. The Puffin’s Nest Café on the ground floor of the centre is a 30 seat unit operated by a tenant company – An Café Beag Teoranta. This unit is not part of the tender process. The Cliffs View Café situated on the first floor of the visitor centre is a larger 120 seat unit with full kitchen facilities. The café is part of the Clare County Council facility operated and managed on its behalf by Cliffs of Moher Centre Ltd. The contracting authority is Clare County Council.
The Cliffs View Café is operated as a high quality excellent value café providing a range of hot dishes, sandwiches and snacks. Local produce is a focus and the menu is varied from season to season. The Café has a dedicated staff and management, while feeding into the central management team of the visitor centre overall. Overall responsibility for the Cliffs View Café falls to the café manager, reporting directly to the Director of the Cliffs of Moher Visitor Experience.
