The scope of work and services required includes, but is not limited to, the following: 1. Coillte requires the ongoing support of a pensions actuary to advise the company on exclusively pensions-related matters that arise on an ad-hoc basis. This is not an on-going role but the successful person will need to be available to support and answer queries for Coillte as they arise. It requires a qualified actuary who is experienced in complex defined benefit semi-state pension arrangements and contingent assets. 2. The unique circumstances of the Coillte scheme requires an appointee to be advise the company and foster collaboration between the trustees, Coillte and other advisers so that the ultimate focus is on ensuring good member outcomes and safeguarding the company through its pensions management. We also will appoint the successful contractor/appointee to be the company representative on investment strategy reviews. The successful appointee will assist Coillte find creative solutions to a variety of complex issues. 3. The successful appointee will also have strong industry connections and knowledge of the regulatory landscape and they will be able to advise Coillte in a simple easily understood way as the need arises.
