7315 - EN 15085 Certification for Welding Railway Vehicles and Components

The Freight section of the CME Department, who are the Entity in Charge of Maintenance (ECM) of the wagon fleet, has put in place a quality welding system for the maintenance and repair of freight wagon rolling stock. Welding work is carried out on-site at: Limerick Maintenance Depot, Wagon Works, Roxboro Road, Limerick V94 W264, Ireland. There are four welders and one welding supervisor based on the site. The welding coordinator (WC) is sub-contracted. The requirement of the this tender process is to have the welding system audited against the requirements of: EN 15085-2:2007; Railway applications. Welding of railway vehicles and components. Quality requirements and certification of welding manufacturer. Certification is sought for EN 15085-2; level CL1.
