The Health Research Board (HRB) is the lead agency in Ireland supporting and funding health research. We provide funding, maintain health information systems and conduct research linked to national health priorities. Our aim is to improve people's health, build health research capacity and make a significant contribution to Ireland's knowledge economy. Our latest Corporate Strategy clearly outlines how we hope to achieve this working in partnership with other organizations. The HRB has engaged in recent years to deliver a centralized, integrated, secure and user-friendly solution for all aspects of grant management. To date, the system (entitled GEMS) has been successfully delivered to support the online submission of all grant applications, the peer review and selection process, the finalization of contracts and management of award payments and refunds. Further work is ongoing to deliver a fully optimized system for the purposes of managing grant variations, progress reporting and evaluation of outputs, outcomes and impacts. The system is now delivered an in use to such an extent that the HRB requires a dedicated Systems Administrator to work closely with the GEMs Business Owner and its users to support the day-to-day operation of GEMS. The purpose of this tender is to seek applications from interested parties to provide the services of a highly qualified systems administrator for a 24 month period starting from August 2019.
