The Pharmaceutical Society of Ireland (PSI), the pharmacy regulator, is a public body established under the Pharmacy Act 2007 to protect the health, safety and wellbeing of patients and the public by regulating pharmacists and pharmacies in Ireland. There are approximately over 7100 pharmacists, and around 214 pharmaceutical assistants registered with the PSI. There are also 1988 retail pharmacies on our register, which includes 75 operating under the governance of hospital pharmacy departments.
