Short description

INFOMAR is the national seabed mapping programme funded by DECC and jointly managed by Geological Survey Ireland and the Marine Institute. The programme is tasked with mapping Ireland’s territorial waters by end 2026. As part of this partnership Geological Survey Ireland operates the INFOMAR inshore fleet with responsibility for implementing inshore and coastal operations, although operations extend out to the 30Nm limit.
This responsibility is delivered via an annual survey campaign which utilises a fleet of between 4-5 inshore craft depending on planning requirements.
These vessels are normally crewed by a highly skilled team of permanent GSI staff and contractors.
