Iarnród Éireann (IÉ) is seeking to enter into a long-term supply agreement with a specialist company with a demonstrable track record in the Supply of Rolling Stock Paint. The supply agreement will cover the supply of both spray and brush rolling stock paint supplied in volumes no greater than 5 Litres, for all heavy maintenance and running maintenance activities at its Rolling Stock Spray Paint facilities. The rolling stock spray paint maintenance facilities are located at Inchicore and Portlaoise.
Full paint product requirements and technical support will be required by IÉ, the paint system must consist of a two-component solvent-based polyurethane coating suitable for exterior application to railway rolling stock. The paint system must have excellent durability, including long term retention of colour and gloss, for a minimum period of 8 years, and must be capable of over painting the existing two pack polyurethane paint coatings.

Description of the procurement

IÉ will require the company to supply our full paint product requirements and to also provide technical support to all of IÉ’s maintenance depots nationwide, the paint system must consist of a two-component solvent-based polyurethane coating suitable for exterior application to railway rolling stock. The paint system must have excellent durability, including long term retention of colour and gloss, for a minimum period of 8 years, and must be capable of over painting the existing two pack polyurethane paint coatings, and the base material must be capable, through conversion, of being used for both solid and base coat and clear applications
