External legal assistance is required to support the work of the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment in Ireland. The Commerce, Consumer & Competition Division in the Department is responsible for a broad range of legal and policy matters concerning company law and other law governing bodies corporate and partnerships as well as national and EU policy on competition and consumer matters. Legal Researchers and Legislative Drafters are required to support the work of the Division, including but not limited to: • Preparing Heads of a General Scheme of a Bill • Supporting the Department in negotiations and the transposing of EU Directives • Supporting Regulatory Impact Analysis and Post-Enactment Assessments • Drafting legislation • Providing research support to CLRG Committees and subgroups • Conducting research on consumer law matters in order to inform the Department’s development of specific legislative proposals/provisions

[InfoEvaluatingRequir]:  LOT 1: Tenderers for Legal Research Services must hold a primary degree in law, or a multi-disciplinary degree with a significant law element (to at least a 2:1 Level 8 on the National Framework of Qualifications), or
a post-graduate degree in law;
or as an alternative to the above, a candidate who has been admitted to the Roll of Solicitors, or who has been called to the Bar, in the State.
LOT 2: Tenderers for Legislative Drafting Services must have been called to the Bar of Ireland and be enrolled as a Barrister in the State or have been admitted and be enrolled as a Solicitor in the State; and who is qualified to practise as such without restriction in a common law jurisdiction.
