Short description
Monaghan County Council as the lead authority intend to progress a design-based infrastructural upgrades to act as a catalyst in addressing the expansion constraints at the Lough Egish Food Park in County Monaghan. In that regard, Monaghan County Council are seeking to secure technical expertise in the form of an Integrated Design Team (refer to Guidance Note 1.1.2 - https://constructionprocurement.gov.ie/wp-content/uploads/GN-1.1.2-v1.0-09-02-2022-rev17-02-2022.pdf) to develop a masterplan to allow for the expansion of the food park and the industrial lands adjacent to the existing Food Park. At present the total absence of serviced sites is impeding the growth of the Food industry. This project, through the development of a masterplan will unlock the potential of the existing Food Park. The masterplan will address the main infrastructural blockers, mainly the lack of services, which are hindering the expansion of the park.

Local Authorities are mandated to promote the economic development of their areas including enterprise development across economic sectors, indigenous industry, micro – enterprises and small and medium enterprises, enhanced innovation and research & development capacity and in so doing to put in place the necessary supports and infrastructure. Monaghan County Council is the lead applicant for a Rural Regeneration Development Fund Category 2 Project.
