Description of the procurement

IReL is a nationally funded e-resource licensing Consortium providing access to leading Science Technology and Medicine (STM) and Humanities and Social Sciences (HSS) resources on behalf of participating Irish publicly funded higher education institutions (IReL Members). IReL has established itself as a highly successful shared service and an essential element in Ireland’s research and education infrastructure, delivering access for students and staff of all members universities and Institutes to journals, databases and e-books. IReL underpins key areas of research funded through national research funding bodies, such as SFI, IRC, EI, HRB and Teagasc, and through European and international funding streams. IReL promotes research among others by attracting principal investigators from across the globe with its unique depth and wealth of content, and by supporting them throughout the lifecycle of research: from preparing a grant application to the publication of research output in high-impact journals. IReL licensing agreements operate on an “all-in” model where all the core members participate in all vendor agreements and on the same basis.
Associate members may participate on an “opt-in” basis.
Membership may be further expanded to include other Irish publicly funded higher education institutions and research performing organisation.. IReL wishes to enter a subscription agreement for access to the following resource.- WestLaw OnLine Commentary.
