The Contracting Authority requires a hire service for the provision of mattresses, seating system and bariatric products to provide a support surface for pressure area care needs and which comply with all relevant quality standards, including Medical Devices Directive 93/42 EEC.
During the period January to December 2021, the Contracting Authority used 203,590 days worth of rented products of which approximately 77% comprised mattress hire and 23% seating cushion hire. The 2021 figures are not offered as a guarantee, nor should any such guarantee be inferred, regarding the precise volume of the Contracting Authority's requirements under the initial contract or under the framework agreement as a whole.

Description of the procurement

The Contracting Authority requires a hire service for the provision of mattresses, seating system and bariatric products to provide a support surface for pressure area care needs and which comply with all relevant quality standards, including Medical Devices Directive 93/42 EEC and as set out in Appendix 3 of this document - Specification of Requirements.

As described in the detailed Specification of Requirements contained in Appendix 3 of this document, tenderers must be capable of providing a decontamination service with access to a decontamination facility. Decontamination facilities must provide effective segregation of clean and dirty activities and provide an environment that minimises contamination of clean and disinfected equipment.
