Description of the procurement
The purpose of this qualification system is to enable ESB Networks DAC identify the suitable parties for the award of contracts within the scope of Beat the Peak Commercial Active (BTPCA). Beat the Peak Commercial Active (BTPCA) relates to Demand Down electricity services that can be provided by suitably qualified distribution connected customers, connected to the ESB Networks distribution system in Ireland, who have an MIC of 250kW or greater, can meet the requirements set out in the qualification system questionnaire and associated documents (available at www.etenders.gov.ie under RFT no. 222458) and who can provide a demand down service by altering their electricity consumption pattern. The purpose of Beat the Peak Commercial Active is to support ESB Networks in its role as the Distribution System Operator (DSO) in facilitating reduced peak demand throughout the winter period Ireland. The tarrif(s)/price(s) that will be paid by the Contracting Entity for Beat the Peak Commercial Active under the Contract have been determined by the CRU (Commission for Regulation of Utilities) in Ireland and are fixed for the duration of the contract term. Interested Applicants are required to complete the Qualification System Questionnaire (QSQ) provided. The questionnaire and further details, including information on the qualification process, are available at www.etenders.gov.ie under RFT number 222458. This Qualification System is intended to remain open until 31st January 2023. Qualification System Questionnaire responses may be submitted by any interested Applicants at any time from publication of this notice up to and including this date. Applications received will be evaluated as soon as they are received and results notified to the applicant as soon as possible thereafter. The initial contracting period will be November 2022 – 31 March 2023 (with the commencement date being dependent on applicant qualification and contract award).
