[DescrProcurement]

Trinity College Dublin, the University of Dublin invites suitably qualified works contractors to pre-qualify for the Works Contract (including other services) for the Old Library Redevelopment Project (OLRP). The project concerns the construction works located at the University’s city centre campus. The contracting Authority intends to invite 6 candidates to tender, please note that the contracting authority reserves the right to invite at least 6, subject to the number qualifying.
The project shall comprise works to the Old Library building, the Berkeley Library podium and Fellows’ Square. The project will deliver suitable environmental condition and building fabric / services improvements, within the Old Library and in particular, the Long Room. A conservation heating system in the Long Room will achieve the appropriate environment. New window treatments will reduce solar heat gain, UV light, dust infiltration, and relative humidity fluctuations. A ground source heat pump system will further enhance the sustainable performance of the Energy Centre. When the works are completed academic activities will remain at the heart of the Old Library, and the Long Room will continue to be a functioning library. A new Research Collections Study Centre will provide national and international scholars with a secure, accessible, and inspiring environment to study the library collections. Located on ground floor, the Research Collections Study Centre will overlook Library Square.
The project works will connect to and expand into the adjacent Berkeley Library Podium, the Old Library will house the main tourist experience route through the Long Room and Book of Kells exhibition. The Podium Visitor Centre will house new and separate entrance and exit points, shop, exhibition space, toilets, and other specific ancillary accommodation. Some staff accommodation and retail storage will be located within the mezzanine area of the Podium building. Further project information can be found at: https://www.tcd.ie/old-library-campaign/
The pre-qualification quantitative and qualitative short-listing criteria are wholly described within the tender document set. i.e. SAQ and Project Information Memorandum, separately attached. Responses must be submitted via the electronic postbox available on www.etenders.gov.ie by the response deadline. Only responses submitted to the electronic postbox will be accepted. Responses submitted by any other means (including but not limited to by email, fax, post or hand delivery) will NOT be accepted. Responses submitted late will NOT be accepted.
