Description of the procurement

Phase II works at the Advanced Manufacturing Training Centre of Excellence including internal fit-out works, external workshop, site works and new external staircase. Mechanical, Electrical and Life Safety System installation. Works include alterations to existing automatic sprinkler system. This phase includes all remaining ground and first floor accommodation including the external workshop and site works in accordance with the granted Planning permission, Fire Safety Certificate and Disability Access Certificate. Most of the works are internal works within the existing building footprint. However, a new escape stairs is to be constructed on the south elevation to facilitate escape in accordance with the new fire strategy. The works include several specialist rooms ranging from virtual welding to fully equipped hot food offer kitchen. All remaining teaching and ancillary spaces are to be completed as part of Phase 2, including a new reception area and accommodation stair in the main entrance foyer. All existing service systems, including air conditioning, mechanical ventilation, and life safety systems, will be replaced/upgraded to ensure fully compliant with current Building Regulations. A key component to the 2-phase strategy relates to the safe occupation of phase 1 and allow phase 2 to be completed. The phasing drawings included in the information pack demonstrates how this can be delivered.
