As part of this WWRC, DCC wish to procure a specialist to Design, Manufacture, Supply & Installation of 2 no. Steel Water Retention Gates & 6 no. Penstocks for the proposed Whitewater Rafting Centre.
The following specialist works are required:
• The flood rescue village section of this project (to be used for training purposes by emergency services) requires 2 no. watertight steel doors as follows:
o Inbound gate: (diverting water from the white-water rafting course upper channel into rescue village) 9 to 11m wide x 2.1m high double faced (steel plate on both sides).
o Outbound gate: (retaining water in the rescue village) 8m wide x 1.9m high single faced (steel plate on one side only).
o Both gates are to be designed by the gate supplier to resist the dynamic hydrostatic water pressure associated with water flowing at 14m3/s. Doors to be fully watertight with all associated seals and gasketry supplied. Gates to be hinged on 1 side only with a watertight seal achieved up to the surrounding reinforced concrete course structure. Gates to have a corrosion protection system suitable for use in chlorinated swimming pool quality water.
