This is a call to competition by IE to award a contract for the elimination/upgrade of six existing level crossings on the Dublin to Cork Railway Line between Limerick Junction and Mallow Stations.
Planned proposals for the elimination/de-manning of these level crossings include:
(a) full closure (extinguishment of the public right of way across the level crossing),
(b) provision of alternative access across the railway line through the construction of an access road and/or overbridge.
A specific design solution for each crossing has been developed and IE now intends to commence a tender process so as to appoint a proven and experienced contractor to undertake these works.
