ICHEC has operated the national HPC service for over 15 years alongside various distinct data management services. As part of its latest business plan covering 2021-2025, ICHEC proposes a more comprehensive, integrated and ambitious infrastructure roadmap to underpin the four key strategic objectives:
1. Enable Excellence in Science by delivering to the national service mandate
2. Advanced Digital Skills in developing a highly-skilled workforce
3. Accelerate Economic Development with a focus on the SME sector
4. Deliver HPC for Good through leveraging the output from previous priorities to tackle some of the key societal challenges for Ireland, such as healthcare, housing, and the environment.
The creation of this platform will require a number of infrastructure components:
