Short description

Iarnród Éireann operate a number of rolling stock fleets with differing friction brake requirements (i.e. axle mounted discs, wheel mounted discs, and brake blocks applied directly to the wheel). To reflect the differing friction brake requirements, the tender process has been split into 9 separate Lots.
Iarnród Éireann operate a number of maintenance facilities where brake pads and brake blocks are consumed as part of the normal running maintenance activities. In addition, as part of Iarnród Éireann’s heavy maintenance activities, brake pads and brake blocks are also consumed as part of the bogie refurbishment activities.
