This document is the first step in a process to appoint a service provider for the supply and installation of suitable anti rollaway technology (handbrake warning alarm system).
The issue of unattended vehicles rolling away and the potential for injury is a matter of concern for the Company. In addition to a number of internal controls being put in place, it has been decided to go out to the market place to source a suitable engineered solution.
Our requirements are for the provision of a system to cover the following, but not limited to:
• Helps prevent vehicle rollaways
• Loud audible instruction (inside and outside of vehicle)
• Operates in all ignition states
• Can only be cancelled by correct operation of parking brake
• Suitable for all van types
At this stage, it is envisaged that the system will be installed in new vehicles only but it may be extended to vehicles currently in service if deemed necessary. The number of vehicles to be encompassed in this contract will be approx. 3000 between 2021 and 2024.
