Description of the procurement

This is a call to competition by IE for the establishment of a Framework Agreement for the Supply of 8/16 Channel DWDM telecommunications network system. This will be a Single Supplier Framework. The requirement is for the supply and delivery of equipment, installation and maintenance are not required. As this is a single Supplier Framework, one Supplier will be the sole Supplier.
Iarnród Éireann has a requirement to combine the traffic from multiple fibre pairs into single pairs utilising a DWDM Solution to increase fibre utilisation and support NTCC, MPLS-TP and other future network developments .This equipment is required to increase existing capabilities to facilitate the upsurge in network traffic.
Following the completion of the tender process, the successful Tenderer will be able to support Iarnród Éireann by:
Providing IÉ with a DWDM system with a minimum 10 year design life and supplying the DWDM solution as part of a 5 year supply contract with optional 3 years extension.
Qualified members of the framework will be invited to tender for the provision of
DWDM system equipment as part of a 5 year supply with optional 3 years extension contract, at IE’s discretion.
