This competition is being conducted by Beaumont Hospital on behalf of the Health Services Executive, HSE locations nationally, organisations funded by the HSE and other publically-funded agencies and the Irish Public Sector. In the first instance, the Contracting Authority intends to award a contract for the supply and maintenance of three audiometers for use in Beaumont Hospital. The successful tenderer must provide comprehensive support and maintenance during normal working hours (incorporating a two-year warranty period).

Description of the procurement

This competition is being conducted by Beaumont Hospital on behalf of the Health Services Executive, HSE locations nationally, organisations funded by the HSE and other publically-funded agencies and the Irish Public Sector. The Irish Public Sector client base comprises Central Government Departments, Offices and Non-Commercial Agencies and Organisations that have a formal reporting and legal relationship with these departments, including Local Authorities (including Town Councils, Regional Assemblies, County Enterprise Boards and Libraries), Third Level institutions (Universities and Institutes of Technology), VEC Schools, primary, post primary, special and secondary schools, VECs acting on behalf of schools, groups and cluster of schools and youth centres. The Irish Public Sector client base also includes the Security Sector, comprising An Garda Siochána, the Defence Forces and the Irish Prison Service.
In the first instance, the Contracting Authority intends to award a contract for the supply and maintenance of three audiometers for use in Beaumont Hospital. The successful tenderer must provide comprehensive support and maintenance during normal working hours (incorporating a two-year warranty period).
Following the fulfilment of the initial requirement for Beaumont Hospital, and at any point up to four years from the date of this contract’s award, any organisation listed above may draw down from this contract.

Justification:  
In accordance with Article 27.3 of Directive 2014/24/EU, the Contracting Authority is availing of shortened timescales in respect of this competition. The urgency associated with this requirement arises from the fact that the required equipment will be used in an acute hospital setting. On grounds of patient care, time is of the essence in respect of this competition.
