Description of the procurement

In summary the services comprise: Project management, facilitation and implementation of a primary level education and information project to inform young learners about aquaculture, seafood production, climate Science, marine science, geography, map reading, socio-economics, nutrition and other related topics. The key focus is to inform young learners about the importance and positive benefits of aquaculture and the factors and influences that effect food demand and production, economic development and the social, economic and cultural impacts of food production and supply. The project should be guided by the farmed in the EU initiative and the materials provided therein. Information is available at; https://ec.europa.eu/fisheries/inseparable/en/farmed-eu
The project will entail the deployment of key personnel and a mobile classroom to primary schools throughout Ireland to deliver the learning outcomes. The project will entail promotion and advertising of the resource to key target markets (primary Education sector stakeholders and primary Schools). BIM have content and educational materials to hand, however, the project will entail a level of curriculum enhancement/development during the first year. The project will also require participation at various sectoral and public outreach events including seafood festivals, open days, educational sector events and community events.
