Sport Physiotherapy Consultant:
1. Deliver Sports Physiotherapy services for the Athletics Ireland high performance
2. Deliver Sports Physiotherapy services for athletes from other sports
3. Lead integrated service teams in specified sports as agreed from time to time
4. Deliver sports physiotherapy clinics at the IIS Abbotstown which may require flexibility around the working day to allow for some early morning, evening and weekend clinics.
5. Deliver onsite sports physiotherapy support to nominated sports at training camps and competitions.
6. Collaborate with other consultants to deliver expert multi-disciplinary support services
7. Deliver other support services that fall within the competency of the consultant as required by the Institute and agreed with the consultant
8. Inform and educate athletes in injury rehabilitation, management and injury prevention strategies.
9. Contribute to knowledge sharing and development across the Institute

Description of the procurement

Sport Physiotherapy Consultant:
1. Deliver Sports Physiotherapy services for the Athletics Ireland high performance programme as directed by the Head of Rehabilitation and Athletics Ireland Performance Services Manager
2. Deliver Sports Physiotherapy services for athletes from other sports as required as agreed with Head of Rehabilitation
3. Lead integrated service teams in specified sports as agreed from time to time

Explanation
The winner and only tender previously worked with Athletics Ireland as Lead Physiotherapist within their High Performance Program based at the Sport Ireland Institute in Abbotstown. The role involved the delivery of sports physiotherapy to nominated high performance athletes as part of the multidisciplinary team at the SII. Specifically the role with AAI involved the planning and delivery of high performance sports physiotherapy support to AAI Podium, International and Development athletes.
In addition, winning tender currently works for Team Physiotherapist for the IRFU National Women’s XVs, a consultancy role through to end of WRWC August 2017. Reporting directly to the Director of Rugby for the IRFU National Women’s Program, IRFU High Performance Director, and IRFU Medical Director, overseeing the physiotherapy management of all IRFU National Women’s XVs squad players.
