Teagasc is committed to breeding Potato to improve the overall sustainability of the wider Irish and International potato industry. It seeks a partner to underpin and support the application of cultivars that emerge from the Teagasc breeding programme for National Listing and Plant Breeders’ Rights in Europe and in all appropriate countries/regions. The selected partner will be required to propagate, market, sell, supply or otherwise distribute, seed of all new Potato cultivars that emerge from the Teagasc breeding programme. The length of an agreement between both parties is expected to commence from 1 November 2017 and to be for a period of 15 years.Teagasc is carrying out this procurement exercise under the Concessions Directive 2014/23/EU. It is a two stage process.

Description of the procurement

Teagasc is carrying out this procurement exercise under the Concessions Directive 2014/23/EU. It is a two stage process. In stage 1, potential suppliers will be identified and may be shortlisted based on specified criteria.
In stage 2 the shortlisted applicants will be required to present proposals which will be evaluated against specified criteria. Teagasc will finalise a contract with the preferred applicant through a negotiation process.
