The Discipline of Transport Engineering requires new up to date equipment to facilitate the delivery of the new Heavy Vehicle Mechanics, Heavy Goods Vehicles (HGV) syllabus version 4.1. The previous HGV syllabus was written in 2003 and the existing equipment is not up to the required technical standard required to deliver the new syllabus. Delivery, installation or commissioning of all new equipment will be in DIT Beresford Street Dublin 7.
The items of equipment required include one truck 6x2 tractor unit, bus/coach chassis, chassis and cab van, miniature trailer, various training aids / simulators, test and diagnostic equipment including hardware and software. This is to include all required staff training on this equipment.
