Short description
Contract 1 involves the refurbishment of 76 existing stables. The extent of the refurbishment works is dependent on the condition of the individual stable. Applicants should note that there will be limited conservation works to a small number of stables marked for refurbishment and this will require close consultation with the project Conservation Architect. It is envisaged that Contract 1 will commence in November 2016 and continue for approximately 6 months.
Contract 2 will include the remainder of the works, namely, demolition of 60 stables, construction of 80 new stables (including tack rooms and a security room) and ancillary areas arranged in a courtyard layout, construction of a new machinery yard (including the dismantling and relocation of a portal frame) and provision of a fuel storage area. The works also include ancillary groundworks, landscaping and upgrade to the drainage system within the stable yard. It is envisaged that Contract 2 will commence in October 2017.
